ACSA Board Approves Charter School Task Force Principles

Late in the 2016-17 fiscal year, ACSA’s Board of Directors tasked the Governmental Relations Department with forming a Charter School Task Force and developing a set of “Charter School Principles and Priorities” for the association. A number of County Office, School District and Charter School ACSA members were invited to join the task force. The task force consists of 19 members and is staffed by Cathy McBride, Legislative Advocate.
The task force met in April 2017 and again for a 2-day retreat in July 2017 where they developed and approved the principle statement. At their meeting in September, they finalized the supporting detail to the principle statement and developed priorities for the task force moving forward. The principle statement was approved by ACSA's Board of Directors on October 23, 2017. Below is the statement:
